REMEMBER: To always be aware of children and pets, and to use the recommendations from the manufacturer before starting any sort of insect treatment. Johnston's Hardware wants your family to be safe this summer.

Prepare Your Tornado Plan: Designate a "shelter room," somewhere that is either underground, or centrally located in your home, staying away from windows and outside walls. This room should be the lowest, smallest and most central area you can get your entire family into. For those living in mobile homes, your tornado plan should take you to a preselected , permanent structure. If the warning time is not sufficient, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE WHEN A TORNADO IS NEAR. You are safer lying in a ditch or depression, than driving or staying in a mobile home.

Have A Tornado Kit Ready: Every household should have an emergency kit that is easily accessible when tornado conditions arrive. This kit should include:

a) A battery-powered NOAA radio

b) Flashlight

c) Extra Batteries for both mentioned above

d) First Aid Kit

e) Sturdy shoes for every member of the family

f) Identification and cash

g) Spare sets of keys to vehicles

Always Know Your Aftermath Plan: Your entire family should have a designated area to meet just in the event that you are separated during the tornado. Treat anyone who may be injured and help neighbors, but always stay out of damaged buildings. IF YOU SMELL GAS OR CHEMICALS, LEAVE IMMEDIATELY.

    Baseball is back! The Texas Rangers have had a good start to their season and we at Johnston's hope they can make it all the way back to the world series. As we start watching more games, we start noticing more bugs, red and irritated skin, and dehydration.
